So
why join?
The
bsu is the only trade union recognised, for collective bargaining
purposes, by Britannia Building Society and its Group of Companies
and membership is only open to employees or retired personnel, with
the Union's task being to regulate relations with management on
their behalf. This task is accomplished through a working relationship
whereby Management and Union seek to work in harmony, wherever possible,
on matters such as; job security, equal opportunity, dignity at
work and fair financial rewards.
Our
rep's have a vast amount of knowledge and experience of working
with Britannia's policies and procedures. This allows us to give
expert advice on a variety of issues including job evaluation and
performance related pay, health and safety issues, redundancy issues,
pension schems and personal guidance on disciplinary and grievance
issues.
Britannia
Staff Union also has sole negotiation rights on the annual pay
settlement.
The
Union is affiliated to the TUC which means we have access to the
wide-ranging facilities and research carried out by the TUC and
other affiliates, and has a wealth of experience at it’s fingertips.

Lottery
Scheme
Britannia Staff
Union runs a successful monthly lottery scheme for its members. The top prize each month is around £750. Members can purchase up to 5 numbers each month at a cost of £1 per number. Several other prizes are also drawn each month.
